This day has gone from good, to bad, to worse.

We finished the Fitzgerald brief today after a week's worth of deliberation on some of the finer points of the article. That thing has been weighing down my desk for long enough, it's time to put it into action. Also, the judge decided to grant our motion to suppress for the tapes....it clearly has nothing to do with convicting Fitzgerald, and it is garbled at best, pure static at worst. This case is going to be messy, already the defence has filed twice to have the charges overturned on ridiculous grounds...and to make matters worse, the press is starting to get involved.

The bad, and worse, is another case that landed on my desk this morning...double homicide. Murders are never easy and no one ever gets used to them, even though we see them frequently. The defendant is a 17 year old boy...he said he caught his girlfriend cheating and beat her to death before shooting the alleged lover. Such a pathetic waste of life.

Theo came by the day before last to sleep on my couch, although he calls it 'visiting'. This 'visiting' consists of him knocking, walking in before I open the door, and then a half an hour long lecture about my wardrobe and why I do not have a girlfriend. I then tell him he sounds like our mother, and that if I wanted a lecture, I would call home. This particular time he came to tell me that his band, 'Panther Fire', finally got a job at decent, if small, club downtown. He wanted me to come and watch them, but I had to decline due to work. And his heavy metal music makes my ears hurt...

Does the clock say 1:30 am? Where does the time go..?
